Andy's practice concentrates on business and commercial law, real estate law, and municipal and land use law.
Andy counsels small and medium size enterprises on almost all aspects of doing business. He regularly helps clients establish new businesses and has assisted in the start-up of business entities ranging from sole proprietorships to limited liability companies to corporations. He has also guided clients through stock purchases and sales, mergers, business splits, and asset acquisitions and sales. In addition, Andy advises existing businesses on a variety of other legal matters, including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, franchises, contracts, collections, sales and use tax, real estate, environmental, municipal and land use matters, and employment matters. In addition, Andy is a licensed title insurance agent in the state of Pennsylvania and has assisted numerous clients in all types of commercial and residential real estate matters, including purchases, financings, leases, land development, title issues, homeowner associations and condominium associations. Andy also participates in litigation of business and commercial disputes and has been involved in lawsuits involving claims such as breach of contract, breach of warranty, copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, tortious interference with contract, breach of fiduciary duties, civil conspiracy, wage disputes and disability discrimination. He has particular experience in real estate tax sale litigation and foreclosure litigation having represented clients in such matters throughout Pennsylvania.
Andy's other primary area of practice is municipal and land use law. Andy serves as solicitor for a York County township and a municipal water and sewer authority and he has worked on various other municipal law matters for other local governing bodies. He also assists private clients with land use matters, including zoning and development issues and appeals.
Prior to joining MPL, Andy practiced corporate law in the Washington, D.C. office of a large international law firm. Before that he served as law clerk to United States District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater in Dallas, Texas.
